Gift Giving- Puerto Rico is very similar to the U.S where flowers and chocolates are a good thing to bring to a date, however Americans enjoy expensive gifts where as Puerto Ricans enjoy small, less expensive gifts. Respecting Others- Puerto rico and the U.S are almost identical when it comes to respecting other. Making hand gestures at someone is considered rude and direct eye contact is a sign of respect.
