What is a market segment? Why is it important to satisfy a customers needs? If you had to present a graph/chart on the colour of peoples hair, and the categories were Blonde/Brunette/Red, which type of graph would you choose? And why? What is the difference between desk and field research? Why is Primary research better than Secondary research? What information does a business want to find out when doing market research? Into what groups would a Make-up seller, I.E 17 or Rimmel, segment their customers?

PRODUCT What is actually being sold. (Nike, trainers. Apple, I-Pod) PRICE How much the product costs. (Nike trainers £70) PROMOTION How the business tells you what it is selling. (t.v. adverts) PLACE Where the product is available and how the business gets it to the customer. (outlets, Debenhams)

Product does not have to be a thing it may be a service. A mechanic is selling the product which is to fix your car
