2. What is the Preamble? It is the introduction to the Constitution. Preamble (Latin) means to “walk in front.” It gives the 6 reasons the Framers wanted to write a brand new Constitution!

3. So what does it mean? In order to form a more perfect union Establish justice Insure domestic tranquility Provide for the common defense In order to make a better country Create a country based on fair laws Make sure the country is peaceful Make sure the country is safe from enemies

4. So what does it mean? Promote the general welfare Secure the blessings of liberty To ourselves and our posterity Do ordain and establish Make sure the govt. is good for the people Keep our people free For ourselves and our future generations Say this with the full authority of the law
