What does it mean?
All citizens of the US
Example:
Everyone who has lived here past, present, and future

3. In order to form a more perfect union
What does it mean?
To make everything in our country as perfect as possible
Example: make a good country that lasts a long time

4. Establish justice What does it mean? begin fairness for all
Example: have court system

5. Insure domestic tranquility
What does it mean?
promise that everything in our country will be peaceful
Example: police (national guard)

6. Provide for the common defense
What does it mean?
Give protection to everyone
Example: military

7. Promote the general welfare
What does it mean?
Care for those in need
Example: laws to protect everyone, government programs

8. Secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity
What does it mean?
make sure freedom and fairness continues for ourselves and all our children and their children and their children and every generation to come
Example: “we want the same stuff for everyone who comes after us”
we still follow the constitution today

9. Do ordain and establish this constitution for the United states of America
What does it mean?
Approve of and begin the Constitution of the US
Example: the longest used written constitution

10. Preamble Drawings
Create drawings that highlight the purposes of the government
Divide your paper into boxes for each of the 8 topics
Each Box needs:
the name of the goal (5 points)
a description of the goal (5 points)
a picture that represents that goal (5 points)
You have to use color (5 points)
The pictures should represent the 8 topics.
