4.  Caesar died despite MULTIPLE WARNINGS that something bad will happen to him.  Soothsayer’s warning  Bad omens (people on fire, lion in the Capitol)  Calpurnia’s dream  More bad omens (no heart in the sacrificial animal, raining fire, corpses rising from their graves)  Artimedorus’ petition warning him of the plot— although this letter will never be received, it is Caesar’s fault! 5.  We are half-way through the play.  Now that Caesar is dead, no one directly controls Rome.  Power could shift to the Murderers of Caesar—Brutus, Cassius, Casca, Decius, Metallus, Trebonius, etc. Or  Power could shift to Octavius, the next person in line— the only problem is that Octavius is too young to directly take control of Rome.
