12 hr (analogue) clock A 12 hr clock only uses 12 numbers, as its name suggests. It uses ‘am’ and ‘pm’ to distinguish between times before midday and times after midday. A 24 hr clock uses 24 numbers – all different!

24 hr (analogue) clock The numbers you see on this clock are the numbers you use before midday. The numbers you are about to see around this clock are the numbers you use after midday.

24 hr (analogue) clock When you use 24 hr clock times, you must remember the following rules: Always use 4 digits (if a time only has 3 digits, put a ‘0’ at the start).
