Political System in Russia By: Josh and Alex

Current Political System There is a president who works with the duma to create laws. It is a federation. Capital is Moscow. Anyone over the age of 18 can vote. Many different branches. 29,000 judges rule Russia.

Constitutional Court Judicial body that has control and exercises judicial power by using the constitution. Reviews Russians laws and treaties. Over 19 judges help rule this court. They are nominated by the president and approved by the Federation.

Supreme Courts Deals with the criminal and admistrative cases. Consists of 19 judges who act on the principles of independence. Supreme judicial body counts for all courts of basic jurisdiction, both civil and military. If there is special cases or special public interest, it always goes to the supreme court first.

Monarchy in Russia Peter the Great was the first monarch. He did many good things for Russia. For example, he built the new capital for Russia. Catherine the Great was another monarch. She also did good things for Russia. For example, she expanded the Russian empre even more. There was many more monarchs in the Romanov Dynasty.

Communism in Russia Joseph Stalin rose to power after Lenin’s death. Launch many attacks on the different ethnic group. Marx socialism was used through communism. Only one leader and he would rule everything. Created the secret police to take care of people who were against communism.
