2 R EGIONAL PUSH FOR DROUGHT RESILIENCE Following the 2010/11 drought, IGAD is mandated by Member States to launch IDDRSI at regional and country level; TCI supports the development of RPP and CPPs  Strategic frameworks for planning and investing in resilience Set-up of IGAD Regional Platform

4 I NVESTING IN THE RESILIENCE AGENDA TCI supports design of the World Bank funded Regional Pastoral Livelihoods Resilience Project (RPLRP) Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda, with a regional component to be implemented by IGAD Natural Resources management, Market Access and Trade, Livelihood Support, Pastoral Risk Management, Policy and Institutional Support

5 I NVESTMENT DESIGN 2.0 Building on existing processes and knowledge  IDDRSI RPP and CPPs as building blocks for the RPLRP design and prioritization  Technical Consortium Technical Papers  M&E work undertaken by Technical Consortium and others Development of the “cluster approach for cross-border resilience enhancing investments”

6 I NVESTMENT DESIGN 2.0 ( CONTINUED ) Design led by National Project Preparation Teams (NPPTs), with coaching from TCI Close collaboration with Technical Divisions and DOs and COs Support to PIM development in Ethiopia

7 Financing approved for RPLRP worth about US$ 200 million Over 2 years, many TCI colleagues have been involved on RPLRP and CPPs, including: Mohamed, Marc M., Thomas, Benoist, Nancy, Amadou, Ahmed, Julien, Tomasso, Julia, Anna- Lisa, Pamela Colleagues in technical divisions and DOs also participated: Robert Allport, Deborah Duveskog and Joseph Matere (FAO Kenya), Gijs VantKlooster (FAO Ethiopia), Badi Besbes (AGAG) and others…
