Prototype sector Ian Wilmut Dec 2012

What we didn’t include in the proposal... A fully functioning electrical prototype of staves via services to DAQ and plant, in a partial structure. But we do have 90% or the parts for such a prototype in the programme (even when it is descoped). Tim has asked me to talk aout what this object might be, and what WP4 would need to provide.

Schematically...... Outer Cylinder/Thermal enclosure AKA a big foam box DAQ (Opto and DCS) POWER SUPPLIES Recirculating CO2 Plant 1 service module n staves (n~7) Stave insertion frame
4
But we would need to make compromises......... Outer Cylinder/Thermal enclosure AKA a big foam box DAQ (Opto and DCS) POWER SUPPLIES Blow off CO2 plant 1 service module n staves (n~3) Stave insertion frame

What I would like to be able to do Operate a number of fully serviced staves in the correct positions – with there correct spacing to their neighbours. Staves to be inserted using correct process Staves to be serviced by service module “outer cylinder box ” is representative of the environment. Cooling is manifold CO2 – so we can test manifolding and pressure drops/ballencing
6
What WP4 needs to do Ahead of time – Understand what we would like to get out of process – Understand what baseline choices we would make – Have a sketch design of how we could do this WP4 items that are not explicitly in programme – “outer cylinder” – Compressed service module Efforts we would need to provide – Build test setup – Install staves – Connect to service module – Willingness to move staves – Provide and drive cooling – Build staves –.
