3 Definition & Statistics What is Lung Cancer? Lung Cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells that start off in one or both lungs; usually in the cells that line the air passages.

5 Facts & figures  Lung cancer causes more deaths than any other cancer.  About 9,200 people are diagnosed with lung cancer.  Lung cancer is most commonly diagnosed in people 65 to 79 years old.
