Ex 3:7,10 The LORD said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slaves, and I am concerned about their suffering…I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.”

Ex 13:18, 21 So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea. The Israelites went up out of Egypt armed for battle…By day, the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.
