Causes:
‘Traumatic and idiopathic bursitis likely have a common origin, and idiopathic cases result from unrecognized prepatellar trauma.

8. Kinesio Taping in the Treatment of Prepatellar Bursitis (Kase,K et al, 2003)
Reduction in Oedema with Tape in Web cut style to ant &sup to the Patella aids lymphatic drainage. Tape decreases pressure under tape forming channels to direct oedema to lymph drainage sites.
Reduction in Oedema, decreases pain and decreases restriction in ROM.
Overall improvement in functional tasks and ADL.
Psychological positive.
