1 “ It is projected that India will need to grow its agricultural output by12% to feed its people in 2020. Much of this has to come by growing more on the same amount of land. This land, however, is weakening and withering” ------ The Economic times in its edition dated 12 th July’2011.

2  India has an agriculture-based economy.  43% of India’s territory remains employed in agricultural activities as against 11% in the world.  Sunshine hours and day length are ideally suited for round the year cultivation of crops.  There are 20 agro-climatic regions and nearly 46 out of 60 soil types in the country.

3  Agricultural development is vital in our country since a vast majority of the workforce derive their livelihood from it.  India has the potential to become the food supplier of the world. It has the cultivable land, all the seasons for production of all varieties of crops, fruits and vegetables, well developed agribusiness system that works in its own way.

4 Considering the importance of Agriculture for our future generations Rotary Club Of Palghar & District 3140 have planned to organise an Agriculture RYLA this year

6  Agriculture is the back bone of Indian Economy  More and more people moving away from Agriculture due to urbanization and other easy options  Not enough support from Society towards agriculture, leading to gradual reduction  Future wars will be fought on food and water, money cant buy all!  Youth today do not know where fruits, milk, rice and eggs come from!

7 “ SPROUTING SEEDS ” A theme Agriculture RYLA NOVEMBER 12 TH, 13 TH & 14 TH 2011 AT JAWAHAR NAVODAY VIDYALAYA VADRAI, PALGHAR

8  Bring awareness about the importance of agriculture amongst the urban youth  Make them supporters of Agriculture in their future roles as leaders  Encourage some to engage in careers related to Agricutlure

9  Interactive and participative sessions  Group activities  Visit to farmers and fields, Poultry farms.  Discussions and debates  Project work, exhibits and presentation  Awards and rewards to performers

10  Medicinal Herbs and plants  Organic farming  Crops  Agriculture inputs  Agriculture implements  Farmers’ decision making process  Areas of opportunity for Youth

15  Encourage and support the objectives  Opportunity to create awareness in a target audience of over 150 participants and 50 organizers  Mention in PR campaigns  Exposure in media coverage  Sponsors will be given a TIME SLOT at the Agriculture RYLA and will be given opportunity to share their views about the program.  Serving and protecting on future!
