3 Introduction Paragraph
Mummy What is fascinating to learn about, has been around for a long time, has their own system of how they determine ruler, and has their own advanced writing system? Have you guessed it? It’s Ancient Egypt, a great, big, empire that was ruled by many great pharaohs. There are many great legacies in Ancient Egypt, but in my opinion, mummification is the best legacy because of its origin, contribution, and finally, because of its significance.

4 Origin Paragraph Anubis The God
Mummification is considered an important legacy of Ancient Egypt due to its origin. To begin, mummifications origin is important for reasons including its religious purposes. For example, mummification was the way of preserving bodies so they don’t decay. Also two major gods Osiris and Anubis were involved in embalming. (Citation 2) Osiris and Anubis were involved because they completed the process by using a wooden tool to touch the mummified person. Osiris is the god of the underworld and Anubis is the god of embalming. Also without mummification, the bodies will decay and rot. In fact, Ancient Egyptians believed that they had to mummify them so they can have a good afterlife. Another significant factor of mummification is that they needed it according to their beliefs. They had to mummify the bodies so that they could protect Ancient Egypt, so they could go to the Great Afterlife, and to preserve the bodies. (Citation 2) If Ancient Egyptians didn’t preserve the bodies, the bodies would decay and not make it to the afterlife. If they did not make it to the afterlife, they would not be happy. They also couldn’t protect Ancient Egypt. In conclusion due to the religious purposes and the belief of going to the afterlife of mummification during ancient times, it is considered an Egyptian Legacy.

5 Contribution Paragraph
Sacrificed animal for the gods Mummification is recognized as an important legacy due to its use in daily life in Egypt. In fact, a major reason why Egyptians used mummification in daily life was because they did it to worship the gods. Animals were mummified as offerings to the gods. They would do the normal procedure like they would do to people but instead of it being for them not to decay and rot; it was mainly for an offering to the gods. (Citation 3) Ancient Egyptians thought that the gods would like the animals. That’s why they mummified them so they could please the gods. They didn’t mummify the animals to preserve their bodies or have them protect Ancient Egypt. They just wanted to please the gods and to expand their religious ways even more. In conclusion, due to the use in daily life and the religious beliefs of mummification, it proves that mummification has a great contribution so that’s one reason why mummification is considered an Egyptian legacy.

6 Significance Paragraph
An example of an Archaeologist looking at mummies Mummification also has impacted our world today for many important reasons. Although, in my opinion, I think that the most important reason is that it has taught us more about Ancient Egypt and their ways of living. For example, an archaeologist looks at mummies that have gold covered masks which were discovered in Egypt’s Western Desert in June (Citation 1) That tells me that archaeologists in general learn about mummies and study them. If there was no evidence of mummification, two major things would be different. One being that we would have no idea how Ancient Egyptians dealt with people who passed away. Two being that we wouldn’t know as much as we do now about their beliefs. Also we would know less overall about Ancient Egypt. In summary, our world has been impacted by mummification mainly because we know more about Ancient Egypt’s way of life and their beliefs.

7 Preserved body and mummified
Conclusion Paragraph Preserved body and mummified Because of mummification’s origin, contribution, and significance, I think that it’s the most important legacy. Thus Ancient Egyptians needed mummification to preserve bodies. They used it in daily life to send offerings to gods and for the mummified to have a good afterlife. Finally, it has impacted our world today because it has taught us more about Ancient Egypt and their way of life.
