4 patent A grant made by a government that confers upon the creator of an invention the sole right to make, use, and sell that invention for a set period of time.

6 operating cost the expense of maintaining property (e.g., paying property taxes and utilities and insurance); it does not include depreciation or the cost of financing or income taxes

7 fixed cost a periodic charge that does not vary with business volume (as insurance or rent or mortgage payments etc.)

8 taxes a sum of money demanded by a government for its support or for specific facilities or services, levied upon incomes, property, sales, etc.
