Aboriginal Dreamtime Spirits
17
Aboriginal Dot Paintings Australian Aboriginal art is one of the oldest art traditions in the world. The artwork is created by the Native Australians, called the Aborigines… (similar to Native Americans). Aboriginal dot paintings were often created to tell stories about the “Dreamtime” spirits. Many of the characters that appear in Aboriginal stories take the form of Australian animals… crocodile kangaroo koala platypus spider snake turtle … and more! They believed that the “Dreamtime” spirits created the beginning of the world and the universe.
