Sound Principles Of Bible Interpretation Hermeneutics
2
Context, Context, Context Remember that the context is most important
3
Consider the historical, grammatical and theological context
4
Take the words of prophecy in their normal literal, grammatical sense
5
Recognize the importance of the biblical covenants :
6
An Example The Abrahamic Covenant is unconditional, eternal, unilateral, literal
7
When the normal sense makes good sense, seek no other sense.
8
Be aware of time gaps Example : Dan. 9:24-27; John 5:28,29
9
Always interpret a seemingly vague passage in light of a clear passage related to it.
10
An Example On the issue of salvation : Compare Eph. 2:8,9 with Phil. 2:12. It is clear salvation is not based on works!
