2015 Mall Frenzy Lakeside Mall

Training Objective To share everything you and your girls need to know to be prepared for the event. We are busy planning and preparing for your arrival at Special Agent the CSI Experience Mall Frenzy. We hope this video helps prepare you and your girls for this event.

What to expect? A fun filled “night among the stars” where girls will enjoy shopping and activities such as: Karaoke Dancing Zumba Interactive badge activities Air brushed tattoos “Toilet Paper” fashion show And, much, much more! And of course no sleeping, there’s too much going on! A tentative agenda is included in your confirmation and a final agenda will be available with locations when you arrive at the mall!

What to bring? Bring a sign with your Troop/Group number to identify your groups meeting space. You will automatically be entered into our contest for the best poster, so be creative! The winning troop/group will be notified by 3:00 am. Girls will need spending money for shopping and food. (Food vendors will be open throughout the night for food purchases. Please do not bring outside food with you. Let’s support the mall and its shops and restaurants who are hosting us. How much is a decision between you, your parents and your troop. Girls are responsible for their own money.

What to bring? You may bring sleeping bags and pillows to take a rest throughout the night. Please no tents, air mattresses, wagons, gum, or other outside food. Make sure you can carry everything you bring. Adult may choose to bring a lawn chair if they choose. If you want to… wear pajamas, There is no place to change into them at the mall. Remember it’s cold outside so be sure to dress warm. Clothing should be appropriate. Please use your discretion when choosing what to wear. Parents of girls’ may be called if clothing is deemed inappropriate. Leave valuables at home Lakeside Mall and GSSEM are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Give the Look Beauty Box Drive
Our Service Project: Give the Look Beauty Box Drive Give the Look is a Gold Award project that consists of a clothing closet that provides confidence-boosting outfits and Beauty Boxes packed with beauty goodies to help girls look and feel their best. Troops and individual girls are encouraged to bring an item or two or to donate to Give the Look! Donation boxes will be available at the entrances and at the Give the Look Station during the event.

Donation ideas: Shoeboxes Travel size shampoo/conditioner
Make up/ Skincare Toothbrush/Toothpaste Hair care products/brush/comb Positive young adult or classic novel A gently used, confidence-boosting outfit (one that made you feel great!) Inspirational message, a token or trinket, or a “gift from me to you” Troops may choose to bring a completed shoe box of the above donations.

How to prepare Prior to the night discuss expectations with all attendees in your group: Where will you meet or are girls being picked up? What time will we leave? If you are meeting at the mall, designate a spot outside of the mall, you should only enter as a troop/group. Make arrangements for leaving. Are you being dropped off? Do you have a key to get in?

Prior to the night discuss expectations: Make arrangements for leaving. Are you being picked up at the mall? Does your driver know the time and what entrance to pick up girls? Does the adult in charge have permission slips and health history forms? NOTE: If parents are picking up their child from the mall, an adult must walk them outside. Parents will not be allowed to enter the mall.

Prior to the night discuss expectations: How much money should girls bring? Will girls travel to all activities and shopping as a group? Will girls break up into small groups? Are adults assigned to each group? Do you know how to contact each adult? Are there assigned check in times? In case of an emergency who will you contact? Be sure to collect emergency contact information for each girl and adult.

Security This is a lock-in and safety is everyone’s top priority!
Plan to leave the mall between 3:00am and 3:30am. Everyone must be out of the mall no later than 3:30 am. As you clean up your area start moving everyone towards the doors. If your troop has extenuating circumstances and you must leave early, you must have a permission slip for each girl. Sign everyone out on the “sign out” sheet at the exit.

If someone is sick and must leave, meet the parent at the door and check ID. All doors and outside corridors are monitored throughout the event.

Safety Everyone’s safety is our top priority
No running is allowed in the mall. Everyone must wear shoes or hard soled slippers. No tagalongs are allowed at this event. No smoking is allowed at the mall. Smoking is allowed at a designated outdoor site (Door #1) and not in the presence of girls.

All attendees must be wearing their GSSEM council issued wristband to enter the mall and throughout the night. Note: You will see mall staff (both male and female) that will not have on a wristband, including the entertainment that we have hired. Report anything suspicious to the information booth and they will contact the event director and mall security.

First Aid and Lost & Found
A level two first aider will be located at the information booth. Please report there for any first aide needs. Bring any lost articles to the information booth. If special assistance is needed please contact Sara Sanders in advance of the event at

Check In Doors open at 10:00 pm or when the mall is secure.
Although people do arrive early and stand in line. There is no need, the mall is large and there is plenty of space for campsites. Please have everyone use the bathroom prior to arriving it will take minutes to check everyone in. We will use two entrances for check in. Please enter the mall at the assigned entrance location found in your confirmation packet.

Check In continued… Wristbands will be mailed out in your confirmation packet. Please count your wristbands when you receive the packet. All participants must be wearing and have visible your wristband to enter the mall. One adult must drop off a roster of attendees and photo release forms for all participants at check in. You will be given a packet of information at that time. All others proceed with the group down the hall to receive your gift and patch. We ask you do not to camp in front of Jewelry stores with sensitive alarms.

Responsibilities All attendees are representing
the Girl Scout organization. There are high expectations of our behavior. Remind all girls and adults that we live by the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Inappropriate behavior is not tolerated.

Responsibilities Adults are responsible
for the behavior of their girls. If you see something inappropriate, be sure to stop their behavior. Girl Scouts leave a place cleaner than they found it. Use trash bags to clean up your area. Leave full trash bags by trash receptacles.

Responsibilities Rude behavior, vandalism and
shop lifting will not be tolerated and are reasons for parents to be called to pick up from event or Police to be contacted. Prosecution is at the discretion of the mall.

Schedule of Events A tentative schedule will be included in your confirmation packet. A final schedule will be included in your packet when you check in. We cannot guarantee any store openings during the event. Each individual store determines their own schedule. We will provide you with a list of stores and any special offers when you check in at the mall. Once your campsite is cleaned, feel free to leave the mall between 3:00 am – 3:30 am. The mall must be vacated by 3:30 am.
