M = Militarism Description: The policy of building up strong armed forces and an overall glorification of the military.

Countries built up strong armies to defend themselves and their new colonies. Tension increased as countries watched their neighbors build up their military.

A = Alliances Description: An alliance is an agreement between nations to help and support one another in war.

Countries joined together in alliances with other countries for protection. If one country was attacked, the others were obligated to help.

You must also include an article about the Assassination of Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand and the Spark that set of World War 1. Requirements A description of each of the M.A.I.N causes A story explaining the Assassination of Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand A story explaining how the M.A.I.N. long term causes and the spark worked together to pull all of Europe into World War I. Each article must have a picture and a caption. There needs to be a minimum of 3 articles but you are welcome to have more.
