5 Superman’s Biography: Superhero name: Superman Real name: Clark Kent / Kal El Gender: Male Race: Alien Height: 6 feet 4 inches Weight: Over a ton Eye colour: Blue Hair colour: Black Work/occupation: Journalist Superpowers: flying, super speed, super strength, X-ray vision. Weakness: Kryptonite Story: Kal El’s parents sent him to earth to save him from their planet’s destruction. On earth, he calls himself Clark Kent. His powers come from the yellow sun of earth. He uses his powers to defend humans from evil.

7 Read the text and fill Batman’s bio sheet Batman Batman’s real name is Bruce Wayne. His height is 6 feet 2 inches and his weight is 210 pounds. His eye colour is blue and his hair colour is black. His occupation is to manage his father’s business: Wayne Enterprises. He is a martial art expert, a gadget and computer expert, an illusionist and he has a very high intellect. His equipment consists of: body armor, a utility belt, a cape and more high tech gadgets. His weakness is that he has no super powers. Batman decided to fight criminals because a thief killed his parents when he was 8 years old.

15 Then create a Superhero looking like this one (final product) : Hero name: The Roman True identity: Mr Jerome Height: 5.10 ft Weight: 180 lbs Abilities: Swordsmanship, hand to hand combat Super powers: Super strength, super speed Weapons : Body armor, roman sword Hero history and powers origins: Jerome was struck by lightning during a visit in the great city of Rome. It is said that it is the ghost of Julius Caesar himself who granted him his powers and gave him the mission to fight crime. Battle cry : “ I SHALL CONQUER YOU !! ”

17 Instructions The next period will be free to work on this. You will have to present your character 2 periods from now. You can create a superhero or a supervillain. Your creation must be ORIGINAL. Originality and effort counts. Use the Hints and tips section. Use the models for help.

The death of his uncle made him realize that with great powers comes great responsibilities. Therefore, he decided to become Spiderman and use his powers to do good deeds.

20 Third period: Work time! Whole period is allowed to work on the project. They can use all their resources. I walk around to see their work progress and to answer questions. No off-task students. They know presentation day is soon. Students finish their project as homework.

21 Fourth and last period: Presentation day Students who want to present first, raise their hand, then the others are picked randomly. They are told to be loud and clear. I remind them that spoken English represents one of the most important part of the project. They can look at their sheet for “I have a blank” purpose. They display their superhero drawing on the board.
