3  - A Dulos Muertos ( Day of the Dead) is a holiday celebrated throughout Mexico. - The holiday focuses on gatherings of familia and amigos to pray for and remember friends and family members who have passed away. -Mostly celebrated in Mexico on November first and second. - Traditions connected with this holiday include building private alters honoring the deceased using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite beverages and foods of the muerto. culinary.net

4 -Dia de la independencia (Independence Day) is a the celebration of Mexicos independencia which is held on September 16 th although it actually begins the night before, on September 15 th. Evening skies are lightened up with impressive fuegos artificiales displays. Afternoon schools are closed and there’s parades throughout the day. 5 Quinceanera (a girls fifteenth birthday party) is celebrated differently from any other cumpleaños as it marks the transition from childhood to young womenhood. The birthday girl is made-up with elegant makeup. This would be the first time she was to wear makeup. 6  Semana Santa (Easter) in Mexico is a Catholic tradición.  It is one of the most important religious holidays besides Christmas, in all of Mexico.  Mexico enjoys some of the best outdoor activity weather across the country at this time of year. Camping with the family is popular and if there is a beach near by it will be crowded.  With traditional celebrations in many cites all over Mexico and most people on vacation, it is both a time of reflection on their religion as well as a time to fiesta. virtuousplanet.com

7  -Mexicans exchange gifts but rather than doing it on Christmas, they wait until New Year's Eve.  -Many families go to church early and open gifts at midnight. Others wait until January 6 which is the the Day of Kings.  - Children traditionally place their shoes near the window so the Magi can fill the shoes with gifts.  - Government offices will be closed for two weeks for all of the celebrations.  - There is the three wise men instead of Santa Clause.
