9
My Goal To provide effective feedback to teacher-candidates.
10
My SMART Goal To provide feedback to teacher- candidates in General Instructional Methods and Apprenticeship Middle School within two weeks of giving the assignment, using rubrics and/or performance task lists that are provided to the teacher-candidates prior to their turning in of the assignment.
11
SMART Goal Justification Last spring in both my mid-term evaluation and end of the term evaluation many students remarked that I need to be more timely in returning assignments. I personally like written feedback that is specific to the assignment. Working with the assessment guru, Julia, I will be learning how to assess student work in new ways. Finally, between other work and family responsibilities I can easily fall behind in returning student work. My Improvement Plan In order to achieve my goal I need to: 1.Meet with Julia to better understand and practice using the types of rubrics we’ll use for General Instructional Methods. 2.I will create either a rubric and/or a performance task list for each assignment; it will be given with the assignment so that teacher-candidates know exactly what they’ll be graded on prior to turning in the assignment. All assignments can be accessed on my website. 1.Meet with Julia to better understand and practice using the types of rubrics we’ll use for General Instructional Methods. 2.I will create either a rubric and/or a performance task list for each assignment; it will be given with the assignment so that teacher-candidates know exactly what they’ll be graded on prior to turning in the assignment. My Improvement Plan cont. 1.I will use the same rubric and/or performance task list to assess the assignment. I will also write specific comments to provide more constructive feedback for the teacher-candidate. 2.I will meet every other week with Dan, Mike, and Julia to discuss assignments and assessment. 3.I will consult my calendar on a regular basis to be sure I return items within two week time period! 1.I will use the same rubric and/or performance task list to assess the assignment.
