2 What is a floor plan? A floor plan is a drawing of a room and how the furniture is arranged. You can see how furniture fits together without moving any furniture!

3 Focal Point A place the eye immediately travels to when entering a room.

4 Traffic Pattern The path people take to move around in a room. The way people enter and exit a room.

5 Arranging Furniture Do not crowd!  Leave space for opening drawers and walking. Use the light from windows! Arrange pieces to promote conversation. Use furniture that supports your needs.
