ASSAN Aluminum is a world leader in wide Aluminium Strip technology.
REFLAT, is a Contactless flatness measurement
based on the stereoscopic measure of laser light beams realized by two digital CCD cameras .
One laser source scanning the strip width, 1 ray each 50 mm.
REFLAT features :
> a free strip tension distribution (no friction distortion)
> a sensor response independent from the tension (no limit of the strip tension)
> an extremely accurate measure in static, or dynamic mode
> low operation & maintenance cost with a robust wiring

REFLAT is not subject to disturbances such as :
> the torsionnal stiffness (shapemeter)
> the variation of the pre set load of the sensors
> the Data conversion & transfer
The calculator receives in real time the measures.
The strip tensions are translated to length differences thanks to an algorithm of triangulation linearization based on the Hooke’s law that gives results independent from the absolute tension level.
These measures processed through REDEX exclusive software allows the leveler crown settings

REDEX Technology guarantees a perfect strip flatness all along the coil length > i.e % (3) from 0 to 2 IU
from the combination of the REDEX exclusive technologies :
> mechanical differential elongation control
> multiroll leveler
> memorized Recipes
REFLAT acts as a double security (as the airbags in a very safe car) and :
> offers the reduction of the scrap thanks to a predictive adjustment of the leveler crown
> allows to contain the operators’ deviations from the recipes in specific cases ( recipes download mistakes, excess of zeal, ….)

REFLAT, AN EXCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT
FOR UP- and DOWNSTREAM FLATNESS CONTROL
The interactions of the crown wedges are non linear and the REDEX control models the interaction system between each actuator and the shape induced changes.
For each actuator and according to the strip width an interaction function is defined from the observer controller. The controller acquires the information of the flatness measurement and the position of the crown

With the discretization of the functions of each actuator and boundary simplification such as the limitation of the difference between two wedges adjustment, the controller generates the matrix of the interaction function of Actuators.
This strategy of setting the crown adjustment by discretization of the interaction function is so as similar as the logical manual adjustment.
