Marine Engineers are required to have a certain skill set that includes good communication skills and technical skills, along with: -Surveying, Investigating and Planning Ship Builds -Environmental Impact Assessments -Feasibility and Cost Estimates -Construction Supervision and Contract Management -Keeping organized records of testing and field observations

For most engineering careers, a minimum of 2-4 years of college is required Many marine engineers will further their education to a Masters or PhD degree by going back to school Most important learning is from mentors and other engineers to teach you the tricks of the trade

In conclusion, marine engineering can be a great potential career for someone who enjoys maritime vessels and has a desire to work hard Personally, I have no intention to pursue this field, though it is interesting to learn about naval ships and new innovations in marine transportation Ending Video Ending Video
