5 Computer Corner What is Storage? Hard Drives, CDs, DVDs, Solid State Memory Storage is typically represented in “GB” Most Systems have 60GB This would hold about 1200 CDs of music or about 5 hours of digital video

6 Computer Corner The Evolution of Storage In 1983 a 10 MB Hard Drive (Equal to about 7 diskettes) sold for $2000.00 ($200 per MB) Today a 300GB Hard Drive (Equal to about 208,333 diskettes) sells for $89 ($0.0003 per MB) In 1983 this 300GB Hard Drive would have cost $60 Million
