How Does CT 2 Work? CT 2 harnesses the power of the Internet and cloud computing to collect shipment tenders, status updates, and location information exchanged between a manufacturer and a carrier. These electronic exchanges between the manufacturer and the carrier usually occur in a few forms: EDI, via Web Services\API, Flat File imports, or submitting a Online Form. CT 2, with the permission of the both parties, accesses these data streams real- time, populates a database for the customer, and presents a centralized view of all shipments while archiving the information for high-value analytics.

What “macro” factors that are driving CT 2 ? Globalization: Companies procure and send products all over the World requiring use of multi-modes of transport such as air and ocean. Consolidated visibility will be a demand. Digital E-Commerce: The internet provides product availability from a variety of sources with the option of constantly finding the best price. A wide pool of vendors results in a wide pool of transportation options to track and trace. * Amazon sold over 300 products per second in 2012. Economic: Companies are downsizing and consolidating customer service and logistics departments creating a need for a software product to enhance visibility of freight tracking and other lean, E-Kanban, and JIT inventory methodologies which require a higher level of material visibility in transit. The Tech Generation: Although the current generation and workforce is relatively technical, the individuals coming into the workforce now have an enhanced desire to operate digitally - not speaking on the phone, they desire instant gratification via access to information and also desire mobility.

What is data aggregation? Data aggregation is a type of data and information mining process where data is searched, gathered and presented in a report-based, summarized format to achieve specific business objectives or processes and/or conduct human analysis. Real life examples of data aggregation are all around us. Take for example,… how many online services help you manage portfolio or financial transactions. These system aggregate prices, activity, and history of multiple stocks and other investments. Imagine the time consumed if you had to go to GE, IBM, Microsoft, and P&G and inquire about the stock price when you want to check your portfolio. Data aggregation systems automate the process and present you in real time the historic and summary results.
