7. Gathering specimens Take your own high quality photographs of a chosen object of Natural Forms. Use the macro setting (looks like a little flower). This allows you to zoom in closer to the object for greater detail. Print one in colour and black and white. You will use these to form the basis of your future studies and to inform your ideas.

8. Digital Microscope Use a magnifying glass to enlarge an interesting section of an object of Natural Form. Produce a line drawing then apply ink over the existing pencil lines. Capture as much tone, texture, pattern, shape and detail as possible. Highlight white areas with expressive painterly lines in white acrylic. This will emphasise the contrast between light and dark.
