Where is it located? The marine biome is another word for the ocean, or the sea. It is the largest biome in the world! The ocean is different from all the other biomes because it is made up mostly of saltwater. Also, it has a lot of biodiversity.

What animals live there? The ocean is full of biodiversity. Lots of species of fish, sea otters, fish, marine mammals, crustaceans, and many more live in the ocean. One fact you may not have known is that coral is an animal, not a plant. A sea turtle off the NC coast

Why is the marine biome important? Do you eat seafood? You probably do. All seafood comes from the marine biome. Especially if you live near a beach, the ocean affects our weather. We also use the marine biome for tourism.
