2 TYPES OF HIGH SCHOOLS 1) Comprehensive Large School (~1,500 students) Variety of courses offered (Advanced Placement, honors, different languages) Sports Teams Academies – rigorous “schools within schools” that focus on careers Oakland High, Oakland Tech, Skyline, Fremont

3 2- Small School Smaller Class Sizes Less students at school Some have specific focuses (Example- health, biology, arts) Same Graduation Requirements as Large Schools Castelemont, CCPA, Life Academy, McClymonds, Met West, Oakland International

4 3- Charter School Public school not under Oakland Unified Requires Application Smaller class sizes and student population Each school has their own restrictions on graduation requirements.
