RPL: Assessment & Recognition Credential Recognition – Recognizing diplomas, degrees, professional designations (CGA, CMA, etc.), etc. – May be used for admission purposes. – May be used for advanced standing with credit. – May be used to waive program requirements (advanced standing with no credit).

RPL: Assessment & Recognition Transfer Credit – Awarding credit at one institution for courses completed at another institution. – May include course-for-course, block transfer, and articulation agreements.

RPL: Assessment & Recognition Prior Learning Assessment & Recognition – Assessing and recognizing non-standard and/or informal learning. – Assessment may be based on: Exams (oral or written) Writing samples Performance/skills Products, etc.

RPL Considerations What makes a TWU degree? Accreditations & limits from external orgs. What limits on types of learning should be set? Are all types of learning of equal value? What are industry standards & best practices? Must avoid looking like a degree mill!
