Defining Gifted and Talented Using a broad definition of giftedness, a school system could expect to identify 10% to 15% or more of its student population as gifted and talented.

Meaning of Gifted and Talented General intellectual ability or talent. Specific academic aptitude or talent. Creative and productive thinking. Leadership ability. Visual and performing arts. Psychomotor ability.
