Guidelines For ADEQUATE cortical aspiration 1. Ultrasonic tip should never be used for cortical aspiration 2. In young pts 3. Different diameters of aspirating ports can be used(0.2,0.3,0.5 and 0.7mm) 4. Functioning of I/A hand piece must be checked before entering in to the AC

5. The vacuum should be kept at 400 to 500 mmHg and the flow rate between 25 to 35cc/min 6. The entry in to the AC in made with irrigation on. 7. The aspiration port of the tip should face Anteriorly 8. The tip of the instrument is gently inserted into the capsular fornix
