Plan to study at least 2hours for every 1 hour of class time. Since this is a 3 hour, 10 minute class, you should plan on 6 hours and 20 minutes as a MINIMUM of outside study time.

Form a study group. There are advantages to being in a study group for both the A student and the C student. Additionally, employers in our field look for potential employees who are good collaborators. Start developing this skill now.

Peter Parker was bit by a radioactive spider and gains his “spidey” powers. Can this really happen? Irradiated vegetables are dangerous because they become radioactive. Is this true? After the x-ray exposure, the technologist must wait at least a minute before entering room because the radiation is still present. Cell phones give off radiation and can cause cancer. Cockroaches can survive the radiation from a nuclear blast and will take over the world when it happens. Too much radiation or too many x-rays will cause you to glow in the dark. The x-ray program is easier than the nursing program.

IMAGING MODALITIES Certification, Registration and Licensure for Technologists Radiologist vs. Radiographer Certification Licensure Modalities ARRT uses "certification" to describe the one-time awarding of a certificate after an individual satisfies all eligibility requirements including the certification exam. "Registration" is the annual renewal of the certificate's validity. A Registered Technologist (R.T.) has satisfied standards for initial certification as well as complied with the ARRT Standards of Ethics and Continuing Education Requirements. "Licensing" is most commonly used in referring to state laws. The state, not ARRT, is the authority that administers the license and grants an individual permission to practice radiologic technology within that state. Application for and renewal of a state license are separate from ARRT processes. Although the ARRT examination is a voluntary certification exam, many states use the scores in licensing decisions. Approximately two-thirds of the states have licensing laws covering the practice of radiologic technology. You can find more information about them on the ASRT website.
