Life Antoni Gaudi was born in the small town of Reus, near Tarragona, in Catalonia. where his parents had a small country house. He was the fifth and youngest, child.

School In the seventies of the 19th century, Gaudi moved to Barcelona, where, after five years of training courses was admitted to a provincial school of architecture, graduating in 1878.

Death of Antonio Gaudi June 7, 1926 73-year Gaudi left his home to go to your daily way to the Church of Sant Felip Neri, where he was a parishioner. Walking distractedly on Gran Via de las Cortes Katalanes between the streets of Girona and Bailen, he was hit by a tram and lost consciousness. Cab drivers refused to drive to the hospital unkempt, unknown old man without money and documents for fear of non-payment for the trip. In the end, Gaudi was taken to a hospital for the poor, where he received only rudimentary medical care. Only the next day he found and identified the chaplain Sagrada-name Mohsen Gil Pares-and-Vilasau. By the time the state of Gaudi has deteriorated so that the best treatment could help him. Gaudí died on 10 June 1926 and was buried two days later in a crypt of the unfinished cathedral them.

Some facts about Antonio Gaudi He was a vegetarian He never married He believed in God. He was a sickly child, he had rheumatism When he finished school the teacher said “Gentlemen, we are here today in the presence of either a genius or a madman.” (This picture was taken in 1878)
