How did the Treaty of Versailles cause WWII? Treaty of Versailles: 1.) Guilt Clause: Germany to admit that they are completely guilty for everything! 2.) Germany to pay $33 billion in war damages = Reparations 3.) Military broken down and limited 4.) Divide Empires 5.) Created League of Nations How did each of these effect Germany? 1.) Germany was the international bad guy…who wants to trade with the bad guy? 2.) Germany not only has no friends, but no money. 3.) They have no protection 4.) Large amounts of Germany land now belong to other nations. 5.) With no League of Nation there is no world police…it’s easy to misbehave.
