All competitors must be packed using the BRC packing list established by the Ranger Training Brigade. Teams will be moved to their designated location by a Ranger Instructor escort. Each team will line up by their team number in the layout site and begin to layout their equipment. During the layout, if a grader finds a deficiency in the packing list, the grader will tell the competitor what is wrong with the item and move the item in front of the teams layout area. If you wish to protest an item of equipment, the grader will notify the NCOIC to clarify the issue. All protests will be resolved at the lowest level. If necessary, a recommendation will go forward through the chain of command (Company CDR/ 1SG, Battalion CDR/ CSM, and Brigade CDR/ CSM). The Brigade CDR/ CSM will be the final authority. All protest must be initiated in a timely manner. A protest initiated after leaving the event site will not be considered. You must have all items on the packing list or your team will be dropped from the competition. What questions do you have at this time? COMPETITOR BRIEF FINAL LAYOUT

INSTRUCTIONS TO COMPETITORS (1 OF 2) After receiving the Competitors’ Brief, you will secure your equipment and be escorted to the layout site where the inspector will have you layout your equipment. Once you have finished laying out your equipment, the inspector will proceed with the inspection. If an issue should arise during the inspection the inspector will record it and continue. If an item is in question, it will be moved to the front of your inspection area and addressed once your entire packing list has been inspected. Once the cadre member has completed the inspection he will notify the PI of any issues identified during the inspection, at that time the PI will resolve the issues. All deficiencies will be annotated on your individual inspection checklist and identified to you. The sequence for the inspection will be items worn, FLC/ items in MOLLE rucksack, then additional/ optional items. You must have the mandatory sponsor equipment and additional gear that was issued during the initial inspection: The packing list may be inspected at anytime during the competition. Any other optional items that you have must remain with you for the entire competition. Failing to do so or loss of an item of equipment may result in deduction of points or disqualification from the competition.
6
You will have until the end of this inspection to correct any deficiencies found. Failure to correct a deficiency or having an incomplete packing list at the conclusion of the final inspection will result in your team being dropped from the competition. After the inspection is complete, you will be escorted to the weigh scales to weigh your rucks. Following your inspection you will leave your gear at the layout site, secure your ballistic helmet and move to Malvesti field to attend SAT. Upon completion of SAT, you will return to your gear and attach your ballistic helmet to your individual MOLLE rucksack. You will then mark and attach your team equipment together with engineer tape. Finally, you will place your marked equipment on the back of your assigned box truck. INSTRUCTIONS TO COMPETITORS (2 OF 2)

STANDARD RECLAMA BRIEF If at anytime you feel you have been graded unfairly or were disadvantaged, notify the evaluator of the event and clearly state your desire to protest. All protests must be initiated in a timely manner. A protest initiated after leaving the event site will not be considered valid. Upon hearing your protest, the evaluator will determine if it is valid within the given task, conditions, and standards for that event. If the protest is not valid you will continue to execute the competition with whatever score you earned. If the protest is valid, the evaluator will notify the NCOIC of the event to determine the course of action to fix the problem. If the protest is not resolved to the competitor’s satisfaction, it will be forwarded through the chain of command (company commander, battalion commander, and the brigade commander). All protests will be handled at the lowest level possible. There will be no rebuttals once the brigade commander has made a decision. A final decision in favor of the competitor can be made at any level in the appeals process.
