February is Career and Technical Education Month in Alabama. Foley High will celebrate this event through Career Fairs, Culinary Events, Recruiting Opportunities, Career Tech Student Organization Events and Competition. This year’s celebration theme is “Recognizing Classroom Innovators!” This month long celebration will emphasize the role of career and technical education in becoming College and Career Ready.

Career Tech Month continued… Various career tech courses offer an opportunity to gain college credit through dual enrollment and earn a career certification credential for success in the workplace. We will kick off the month with a Career Fair on Monday from 11 am -1 pm in the library. Please plan to visit the Career Fair during your lunch wave.

Career Tech Month continued… Please have personal information such as address, Social Security number, and correct phone numbers. Some employers will have applications on hand. Employers confirmed to attend and several more are Sonic, Lulu’s Homeport, Spectrum Resorts, Beach Club, The National Guard, Waterville, USA, Souvenir City, and Longhorns.

FHS is going to Italy and you are invited to come too! Mr. Reed will be leading a 9-day trip to Italy in June of 2016. There will be an informational meeting on February 10, 2015 in the FHS Library at 6PM for anyone interested in the trip. Seniors, the financial aid office of Faulkner State Community College has scheduled FAFSA Night at Foley High School for you and your parents or guardians on Thursday, February 19, from 6-8 pm. Space is limited, so please sign up with Mrs. Daniels today. The sign-up deadline is Friday, February 13.

Mrs. Goodwin is selling short sleeve Fireworks t-shirts for just $15. The money will be used to purchase uniforms in the future for the cheerleaders. If you would like to purchase one, see her in room 920.

You can purchase candy grams in room 918 or during 1st wave lunch. They are a dollar a gram and will be delivered during skinny block on Feb 13. Valentine's Day is just around the corner and we would like to help you spread the love!

What’s Up Foley High School? Valentine’s Day is right around the corner so you need to “TURN UP” and get your Valentine’s Crush for $1. Valentine’s Crushes will be sold in the cafeteria Monday, Feb. 9-Thursday, Feb. 12. If you want to purchase one before that time, you can email Ms. Porter at tporter@bcbe.org and she will send someone to your first block to personally take your order on Friday. All Valentine’s Crushes will be delivered on February 13 during homeroom.tporter@bcbe.org

February is National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month and The Lighthouse Youth Task Force will be asking students to sign pledge cards in the cafeteria on Thursday and Friday, February 12th and 13th for our "These Hands Don't Hurt, Hearts Can Mend" Campaign.

Teen Dating Violence Stats: *1 in 3 teens experience some form of abuse in their relationships. *Abuse can be as visible as bruises and physical violence or as subtle as name calling and controlling who someone talks to online. *Nearly 1.5 million high school students nationwide experience physical abuse from a dating partner in a single year. *Teens who have questions about their relationships can visit loveisrespect.org or text "Loveis" to 22522 to get help from trained peer advocates. On campus students can see Mrs. Beverly, School Social Worker, in the front office if you have questions or concerns.

Attention all 9th through 11th graders: The time is coming to begin selection of your classes for the 2015-16 school year. Are you looking for something to take the monotony out of your average school day? What about classes to teach important life skills while having fun at the same time? Check out Foley High’s Theatre Class offerings. Theatre I introduces you to the basics that make your favorite actors shine on the big screen! Do you think you have some hidden talent? Join Ms. Andersen in Theatre I.

For those of you who have already taken Theatre I, sign up for the upper levels of theatre courses available…Theatre II, III, and IV. Each level takes you a step further in your theatre education and experience. Theatre Production, a course offered for the first time this year, is the perfect class for any student who has successfully completed Theatre II.

It's that time of year again. Prom Season!! The Heritage Junior Women's Club is proud to announce yet another year of Emily's Closet Prom Dress Giveaway. This year the event will be held on Saturday March 7th from 9am-12pm in the cafeteria at Baldwin County High School. They have plenty of dresses and they would love to get these dresses in the hands of the young ladies at Foley High School!

The blood drive will be held on Thursday February 19 in the training room from 8 am to 2 pm. Students can sign up in their homeroom or room 301. Consent forms may also be picked up in room 301. Requirements to donate: -Must be 16 years old or older. -ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE CONSENT FORM SIGNED BY PARENTS (EVEN IF THEY ARE 18 YEARS OLD) -Photo ID required on day of donation. -Must sign up by Friday February 13.
