3 What to Expect – Physical Move About a week before you move blue boxes show up for you: – Put your files / books / binders / stuff in there – Movers will move them to your new location Movers will move your computer and monitor(s); you can move them yourself if you want Movers will move your chair Movers will move furniture and equipment IF your manager already filled out a spreadsheet Everything else is YOUR responsibility!

4 What to Expect – NW and Computer Changes LAN Desk = Done! (Did you not notice?) OSU LAN: – Target = June 16 – Will be largely seamless, BUT you may need two-factor authentication for specialized software Desktop Support is transitioning from ODEE to OCIO July 1; call 8HELP when you need anything Security (LAPS): Administrative rights will be granted by exception – Target = Late June or early July – Read: You won’t be able to update iTunes Additional Wireless Access Points have been installed! Note: Most everyone will be wireless (only)

5 Phones Lync phones Three “flavors” based on use cases Special case = shared / group phones (We hear that the downloadable app is, well, not all that great) You can request sim-ring functionality Note: You don’t need to do anything with your existing phone

6 FAQs #1 What about the chairs in the 152R conference room? (Moving to conference rooms in St. John) Will there be a “shredding / recycling day”? (Lindstedt working on this) Will there be boxes so I can take some of my things home? (No) What storage can we expect in my office where we are going? (One “wardrobe” = two lockable filing cabinets and open air shelves -- One per room (not one per person) What will happen to the mail room? (Lindstedt working on this) Do I need to be present during the move? (No)

7 FAQs #2 Can we put personal items in the blue boxes? (Yes) When will the 2nd floor of St. John be cleaned and prepped for our move-in? (Dusting, vacuuming, and light checks = done) Can we take white boards with us? (Yes: If it’s on the spreadsheet or you take it yourself) Will we have locking doors and keys for our offices / rooms? (Yes: But only one “type” for the entire St. John and ODEE area –and- swipe card for some doors at St. John)

8 FAQ #3 What’s going on with our Mount Hall refrigerators? (We’re working on this; we’ll try to bring them over) What’s going to happen with all other furniture in Mount Hall that isn’t on the official spreadsheet? (It’s going to be thrown away or surplused; do NOT steal it!) How do I do updates and install new software on my computer? (Updates and patches will occur on a regular basis; submit a request to 8HELP) How do I get an exception for admin access on my computer? (Submit a request form through the OCIO self-service page)
