Reducing your Toxic Load through Elimination & Cleanse A 3 day Sample Design
2
Engulfed in a Sea of Toxins What and Where are all of the toxins coming from? A toxin is any substance, be it liquid, solid or gas that has detrimental effects on the body. Also included are negative mental-emotional thoughts and feelings. Most commonly we are being “In-toxicated” by the 80,000 chemicals presently used in the US. Less than 10% are ever tested for safety. We are breathing polluted air, drinking water with contaminants (over 700), heavy metals and agricultural chemical run off. Our foods our grown with more chemicals than ever before and this list includes pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, many of which are carcinogenic. The use of pharmaceutical, recreational drugs, caffeine, and alcohol have further increased the toxic burden. Much of our food supply is Genetically modified. We are consuming more fast and processed foods, more salt, unhealthy fats, and sugars ( 150 # per person/year) than ever before. We are storing and cooking our foods in plastics, aluminums and Styrofoam, which all leach dangerous chemicals into our food. The cosmetics and personal products we use are laden with chemicals that are known hormone disruptors, carcinogens and respiratory irritants..

Detoxification & Who needs to detox? What is Detoxification? This is the natural process of neutralizing or eliminating toxins via the major detoxification organs: The liver, kidneys, intestines, lungs lymph system and skin. All people now carry a modern day chemical cocktail derived from industrial chemicals, pesticides, food additives, heavy metals, and common drugs. Incidence of “toxicity diseases” has increased. Namely, Cancer and cardiovascular diseases. One must also consider toxic emotions like anger, resentment, and fear. Most of us can benefit from a “cleanse” to a greater or lesser degree, in order to prevent disease and optimize our health and well being. Toxins “bio-accumulate” creating a load on all the systems, weakening immunity and setting the stage for illness and disease. There are exceptions to performing a detoxification or ‘cleanse’ and more importantly, it should be supervised by a trained health care professional.

Contraindications to performing a Detoxification protocol Acute illness, post surgical Cancer Diabetes and kidney disease Pregnancy and lactation Underweight or malnourished Fatigue Cardiac arrhythmias or weak heart Weakened immunity

Benefits The benefits of performing an occasional or seasonal cleanse are numerous and include: Prevention of disease, clear dietary addictions, ( caffeine, sugar, nicotine, alcohol, wheat), allergies, eczema, chronic sinus or ear infections, enhance immunity, increased energy, improve sleep, hormonal balance, improved mental clarity and focus, improved bowel function, clearer skin, fewer aches, pains and headaches, improved food consciousness and lifestyle choices, jump start a healthier eating program.
12
Possible Side Effects: Short duration detoxification protocols are usually not associated with adverse reactions. However, since every individual is biologically diverse and has differing amounts of accumulated toxins, fat storage ( where many toxins are stored) and lifestyle habits, symptoms may vary. Symptoms may include: mild headache, skin rash or acne, fatigue, weakness, dizziness. Longer duration detoxification protocols and fasting cleanses will cause more negative reactions and may be detrimental.
13
Last but not least: Cleansing the Emotions “Resentment is an extremely bitter diet, and eventually poisonous. I have no desire to make my own toxins ”. Neil Kinnock Reduce stress factors by changing what you can. Recognizing ‘self control’ is the only control you have. Practice daily forgiveness, prayer, gratitude, meditation or any other activity that nurtures and fortifies the spirit. Wishing you a Happy Mind & Happy, Healthy Body!
