Epidemiology of digestive cancers in China high incidence of cancers in China The most common digestive cancers in China - gastric: 23.3/100,000 (Male), 12.8/100,000 (Female), 2008 - colorectal: 20.10/100,000, 2002 - esophageal: 14.53/100,000, 2009 (from Zhejiang Province) - hepatocellular carcinoma: 26.68/100,000 in China, 2003-2007 - pancreatic: 6/100,000 (Male), 4/100,000 (Female), 2008 - gallbladder: 3.8/100,000 in Shanghai, 2002-2006

Conclusion WCA could inhibit gastric cancer cell SGC-7901 growth in vivo. WCA could induce gastric cancer cell apoptosis and suppress proliferation. Its mechanism might be involved in the down-regulation of Stat3, RPIX, ROD 1 and Bcl-2 genes.
