Geek 101 (Cont’d.) Great fun Informative Educational Students will be offered an opportunity to meet and learn from Film and Television Actors, Authors, Comic Book Artists, Space Scientists, Robotics Experts, and all sorts of other interesting professionals

Geek 101 (Cont’d.) Students will sit in on interactive presentations from these professionals, and also participate in many Hands On activities. The students will also have the opportunity to visit Artists Alley and shop in our Exhibitors Room, where they can purchase unique gifts and collectibles

Date: Friday, November 9, 2012 Time: 11:15 am to 1:30pm Location: Memphis Hilton @ 939 Ridge Lake Boulevard, Memphis, TN Cost: $10 per person + $2 for transportation Parents and chaperones are welcome Students can either choose between bringing their own lunches or the school will provide lunch Transportation will be provided by the school For more information, please see the I.T. The Very First Computers Zuse Z3 – Designed by Konrad Zuse – Considered the world’s first computer – Completed in Berlin in 1941, but destroyed in 1943 during the Berlin bombing – 2,000 relays, implementing a 22 bit word length that operated at a clock frequency of about 5– 10 Hz. Program code and data were stored on punched film.
