2  Radio Personality: A person with an on-air position in radio broadcasting.  Can be someone who introduces and discusses various genres of music, hosts a talk show that may take calls from listeners, or someone whose primary responsibility is to give news, weather, sports or traffic information.

9  National Statistics - Employment of announcers is expected to decline by 4 percent from 2008 to 2018. - Some job openings will arise from the need to replace those who transfer to other kinds of work or leave the labor force. - Salaries in broadcasting vary widely, but generally are relatively low, except for announcers who work for large stations in major markets or for networks. *According to www.bls.gov

10  Median hourly wages of radio and television announcers in May 2008 were $12.95.  The middle 50 percent earned between $9.05 and $20.31.  The lowest 10 percent earned less than $7.45, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $36.42.  Median hourly wages of announcers in the radio and television broadcasting industry were $12.61.

16  Interview with Chris Stanley, Producer of Ron & Fez Show.  1. Describe Your Duties or Responsibilities?  A: My daily duties and responsibilites include audio production, audio editing, coming up with show topics for the air, participating on air, writing scripts for pre produced pieces, running the control board for the show, making sure the show is going out over the air, booking guests, dealing with guests and their handlers, scheduling all events and guest appearances on the show.

17  2. How did you get started?  A: I got started through an internship with XM radio from my college, CUNY Hunter. I interned for 20 months up until a producer for the show I currently work on left.

18  3. How did you move up in your field?  A: I was in the right place at the right time. I worked as hard as I can and look for opportunities to help the show and company I work for.

19  4. Do you have any advice to make you more attractive to employers?  A: Get your foot in the door any way you possibly can. Work as hard as humanely possible. Always be on the look out to make yourself usefull and to take on any responsibilites your boss is willing to give you.

20  5. How satisfied are you with your career choice?  A: I'm very satisfied with my career choice, it's been a dream come true to work as a producer.
