About 20 feet long. The center of your small intestine is behind your navel (belly button). The small intestine has 3 parts: The Dudenum The Jejunum The Ileum The small intestine is 250 square meters- about the size of a tennis court.

The small intestine absorbs nutrients and water from our food and drink. The leftovers are sent to the large intestine.

Amylase- Breaks down carbohydrates. Protease- Breaks down proteins. Lipase- Breaks down fats.
