Bavaria was part of the Roman Empire and marked the border to the north.

Francia Later it became part of Francia. House of Wittelsbach From 1180 until 1918 Bavaria was reinged by the Wittlesbachers.

Bavaria is in the south east of Germany The state capital is Munich

Danube Europe`s second longest river, the Danube flows through Bavaria.

The Alps There are parts of the Alps, which are Bavarian.

Zugspitze The biggest mountain in Germany, the Zugspitze, with a hight of 2962 meters.

Lake Constance The Lake Constance is on the border of three countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). It`s also the biggest lake in Germany.

Oktoberfest The Oktoberfest is the world's largest folk festival, running in Munich from late September to the first weekend in October The Oktoberfest is an important part of Bavarian culture

Food and drink Bavarians tend to place a great value on food and drink Specialties are for example Weißwurst ("white sausage") and Brezn (Pretzel) At folk festivals, beer is traditionally served by the litre (the so-called Maß)

Battle of Lechfeld In 955 the Battle of Lechfeld took place near our school. Otto I the Great defeated the Hungarians. Some people say it was the foundation of Germany.

Via Claudia Augusta The Via Claudia Augusta is an ancient and very important Roman road. It runs only 3 km away from our school.
