History of Institute of Social science and Humanities The Institute of Social science and Humanities was established in 2011. The compilation of economic, managerial, legal and engineering subject areas is a distinctive feature of specialist training at our Faculty. Since 2011, students are involved in in-depth study of foreign languages. Our graduates will be fluent in English language and have a possibility of receiving a certificate. Second education is offered on 'Interpreter in the Professional Communication Field' educational programme. 142 instructors facilitate the academic process, including 9 professors and 65 associate professors. 4,300 full-time and part-time students study at these Departments. 4

Department of Management This department was opened in 1951. Today there are 42 reaching member including 3 professors and 25 associate professors. The department faculty member deliver lectures, tutorials and laboratory classes, projecting, perform final qualifying work consulting at all faculties at TPU. Currently there are over 1000 part-time students, 17 postgraduates and 20 masters. Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees are awarded in: Management Еngineers are trained in: Enterprise Economics & Management Management Postgraduates are trained in: Economic Theory Economics and National Economic Management: Regional Economics Graduates’ competitive advantages: Ability to analyze scientific information, make conclusions. Ability to conduct research and development in the areas of economics and management, ability to apply theoretical knowledge in everyday professional life, using up-to-date methods and techniques. Ability to work as a team member in international projects and corporations. 6

List of subjects providing by the department in English language for foreign students TitleDescription General management This module is designed to form student’s knowledge in general principles and regulations of organization, in planning of motivation and control of industrial, innovative, strategic, financial and social activity of electrotechnical enterprises, to study bases of management, which are necessary for practices and engineering activity under market economy conditions Project management Project management’s major conceptions, philosophy and methodology and basic skills in management of various project types. Human resources management and organization behavior This module provides fundamentals of human resources management and organization behavior: individual and group behavior, communications, authority, leadership, management, social amenability and ethics, inter employee communication, construction of organizations and the system of human resources management, stages of labour resources management process, remuneration of labour. Innovative and strategic management The course is designed to form students’ knowledge of the basics of innovative and strategic management theory; methods of definition and implementation of development strategy and organization behavior in foreign sphere; strategy designing and implementation in the case of produced product by organization; methods of researches and developments management, which are allowed to work in the innovation market. Psychology of business communication The course is designed to form students’ knowledge of the basics of business communication, to master practically most effective techniques of communicational results forming. Economics of Enterprise This module is designed to form student’s knowledge in economics as special cognition method and effective management of scarce resources at enterprise, to study and comprehend of problems of enterprise successful performance under market conditions: guarantee of steady and sufficient magnitude of net profit when efficient using of scarce manufacturing resources, current production cost minimization and product range optimization, rational production volume taking into account competitive capacity and demand on this production. Financial Management The course is designed to form student’s knowledge in basic concepts of financial management, in modern investment decision criterions, to develop practical skills in analytical financial documents using in management decisions adoption, in performance of financial analysis and financing rating, of capital structure management, of optimal yield adjustment, of optimal financial and investment decision making with using of modern approaches and methods. Business planning This course is design to form student’s knowledge in structure and basic conception of business planning. This course helps to improve analytical and practical skills in cash-flow method and investment decision making process. 8
