Presentation about Robots!
2
I choose the subject of robots because I find them very interesting and the future of technology and robots can be anything from a robotic tray which brings you food, to a robot which fixes things. Also they are very hard to make and I find fascinating how someone can make something so complex. I believe robots are very incredible and really smart. Robots have helped us land on the moon and help factories and have become a big part of the 21 st century.

In 320 BC a famous quote was said by a Greek philosopher Aristotle- “If every tool, when ordered, or even of its own accord, could do the work that befits it... then there would be no need either of apprentices for the master workers or of slaves for the lords.” In 1495 Leonardo da Vinci had plans for a human robot. In 1913 the first moving conveyer belt base in a assembly line was created by Henry Ford in his car factory, A model T can be created in 90 minutes. In 1920 Karel Capek decided the word robots to describe machines which do jobs that humans do. In 1932 the first real robot was made in japan called the Lilliput it was a wind up toy which walked it had a tinplate and stood 15 cm tall. 1969 America was the first country to successfully land on the moon using the latest robotic and computing equipment. In 2008 a robotic vacuum cleaner sold over 2.5 million units.

1932, The first Robot was created In japan called Lilliput. 1937, Alan Turing releases his paper on computable numbers, which started the revolutions of computers. In 1941 Issac Asimov wrote a short story called liar and has the three laws of robotics- 1.A robot may not injure a human being or, through in action, allow a human being to come to harm. 2.A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, expect where such orders would conflict with the first law. 3.A robot must protect its own existence as long as protection does not conflict with the first and second law. The IBM 360 became the first computer to be mass produced. In 1969 the US landed on the moon using the latest robotic technology, In 1999 Sony made the first version of a robotic dog. In 2008 a robotic vacuum came out and sold a lot.

If this technology didn’t exist people would be having to work more hours because in factories mostly everything is robotically organised, If they weren’t there workers would have to do it them selves and factories may run out of money wages and the business could go bust. We may have never landed on the moon, As we used technology to land on the moon so history would not have been made. We wouldn’t have aeroplanes as robotics help create aeroplanes. Our medical care wouldn’t be as good because we use robots. We wouldn’t have as many good cars as robotics help us make cars like they are today.

There are plenty of changes with robotics through time- They have became bigger, More advance for example the first robot was only 15cm height wise and could only walk straightforward and was wind up. Now a days we have robots that you control so you have a control and can control where your robot goes. We now have robots which look like humans and they can walk around and talk and there is this robot bear which can lift people up and help them to get from somewhere to somewhere else this is properly going to be used in hospitals to help ill patients.

Robots are used In factories a lot, For example picking up food in factories and checking sure the food is clean and safe to use. Robots are also used for space exploration, So instead of a human going into space and explore planets robots would because its cheaper and doesn’t matter if they are hurt or broken where as humans it does. Robots are used in the military too blow up areas and mines and too help the army find things and detect objects. Robots are also used on farms to harvest crops and also are too navigate through farmland and find a path through it and guide humans. Robots are also used to find thing in underwater and explore under the sea and beneath are world, They also take pictures of the ocean and go very deep and takes pictures of areas in the sea humans cant go and humans cant stay underwater for that long where as robots can.

Robots take over peoples jobs and humans aren't very happy with it because they could have been fired because of robots and are loosing money. Robots look to human like and could scare people. There’s a debate about rights and expects say they will grow emotion does that mean they can own property and allowed to marry humans. I think this is wrong and robotics to me don’t have rights. They are pieces of equipment and have no rights to be humans and have are characteristics. They could affect the future robots could take over and become so human like you cant tell between humans and robots.

I think robots are a big part of our lives because they are very useful and are used in factories and help us too create great foods and understand technology. I don’t believe robots should look like humans because I feel like it’s a bit scary and strange and like there copying us.
