1 Summer School Attendance Welcome to the “NEW” teacher attendance module. Teachers will be responsible for taking attendance in this online system at the beginning of each class period. Teachers will be responsible for taking attendance in this online system at the beginning of each class period.

2 Access to the system All classrooms should be equipped with a computer for your use. All teachers should have either a district login or have been sent temporary login information from our IT department. 3 Teacher Responsibility Attendance should be taken within the first 10 minutes of class. If a child is not on your attendance screen they should be directed to the office to verify enrollment. Accuracy – Accuracy – Accuracy! If a parent provides information on upcoming vacation days please direct this information to the attendance secretary.

4 Attendance Secretary Role Once a teacher has completed attendance the system will automatically notify the attendance secretary. Parents of students marked absent will then be called to verify the absence. It is important teachers complete attendance in a timely manner. Secretaries may have a large number of calls to make every morning. Record all advance absent days in the system. Take calls from parents concerning any attendance concerns and record them in the system.

8 You will see only the classes you are responsible for. Attendance: click here to enter the days’ attendance. (Log) denotes a logged class where minutes of instruction are recorded. Roster: This list should be the most accurate and up-to-date class list. If a student is not on this list, please notify the attendance secretary. If you want to print a copy of your class list, print the Roster list. This list contains contact and health concern information. Signups: an initial list of students who we assume will attend class.

9 Verify the date, the default is current date. Codes: P-present, A-absent Click on the appropriate code for only those students who are absent. SAVE When the save button is clicked P will automatically fill-in for all remaining students.

11 Logged Attendance Record the minutes of instruction. The copy (Cntrl C)/paste (Cntrl V) feature will work. SAVE Log Durations

12 Summary You may have your Para-educator or your student Aide assist with attendance. It is acceptable to give them your login information. However, you as the teacher are ultimately responsible for the accuracy of the attendance records. Questions: work with your building attendance secretary.
