2 Ipswich Open 2015 – Conditions of Entry Artworks Original paintings, drawings, prints, textile works and three-dimensional works are admissible. Reproductions of works are not admissible. Works must be the property and work of the artist and not have been previously exhibited locally. The number of works that may be submitted by each artist is limited to: Members 4, Friends 3, Others 2. Dimensions Works should not exceed 8ft x 8ft (250 x 250cms) or, for three-dimensional woks, 9sq ft (1sq m). Frames & Fittings Works must be appropriately presented or framed and strung through with D-rings. Works fitted with screw eyes or other fittings that are proud of the frame, or with non-reflective glass or clip frames, will not be accepted. Three- dimensional work should be submitted with its own plinth. Labels Works must have two labels: one pasted or taped to the back of the work and one attached by string. Each label must show: artist, title, medium, price (or NFS if not for sale), and the number allocated to the work (as overleaf). Entry Works must be delivered within the times specified and be accompanied by a completed entry form. Fees (as shown on the entry form) may be paid in cash or by cheque (payable to Ipswich Art Society). Members and Friends should be able to produce a current Society membership card. Insurance Exhibitors of three-dimensional pieces must hold public liability cover of £5m for the exhibition of their work. (The Society’s own public liability insurance covers two-dimensional work only.) Selection All works submitted will be considered by a Selection Panel appointed by the Executive Committee. The decision of the Panel will be final. No work, once selected and catalogued, may be removed before the end of the Exhibition. Sales Although not obligatory, works may be offered for sale. Prices will be understood to include the frame. The Society will charge a commission of 25% on all works sold. Collection Works, selected or not selected, and unsold must be collected at the times specified. Disclaimer The Society will take the utmost care of works submitted but cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage that might occur.
