3.  Malaysia is one of the Newly Industrialized Countries in Asia.  Needs highly skilled workforce to support the growth of her industrial sector.  Developed many vocational and technical training institutes in the fields of engineering, business and services.  Currently there are approximately 194 technical- vocational institutions and there are plans to increase this number during the next five year plan.  Total enrolment to date is over 100,000.

4.  Vocational-Technical education in Malaysia encompasses post secondary education provided by Polytechnics, Community Colleges and Skill Training Institutes.  Both Polytechnics and Community Colleges are under the supervision of Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) Malaysia.
